About

Learning Bee Montessori Preschool is licensed for children aged between 0-6 years of age. We operate four separate classrooms, catering for the unique needs of children between these ages. Children can be enrolled anywhere from two to five days per week, either short or long days, with a maximum of 75 children attending each day.

In our Montessori classrooms there is a special atmosphere of cheerful orderliness, calmness and purposeful work. The Learning Bee Montessori environment provides children with materials and activities which are especially suited to their intellectual, emotional, physical and social needs at each stage of development.

Learning Bee Montessori Preschool offers an enlightened pre-school experience. Children are supported to develop independence and every-day life skills using Montessori-specific equipment as well as other high quality early childhood materials and resources.

The Preschool’s program includes a combination of self-directed and group activities including music and movement, art and craft, and languages.

Montessori
Framework

The Montessori Framework is one that nurtures the whole child, and encourages children to have ownership of what they are learning and master skills at their own pace. A Montessori classroom is flexible enough to allow children who prefer to spend a long time on quiet tasks to flourish alongside children who prefer to engage for a shorter time on more boisterous tasks.

Within this framework for all children is the teaching of respect, both for classroom materials and their classmates and teachers.

Montessori
Classroom

The Montessori classroom is usually filled with natural light, with everything from tables, chairs and shelving to washing up stations at child height, so the children can engage freely with all elements of their environment. The Montessori approach makes use of beautiful, brightly coloured learning items made from natural materials – as well as lots of things from every day life, from oranges for juicing to watering cans to take care of the garden.

Montessori
Philosophy

Montessori philosophy believes that children are creating their building blocks for life from the ages of 0 to 6 years and are naturally interested in learning and engaging with what they see around them. Montessori teachers help this process, by initially showing children how activities can be done and then allowing children to explore activities for themselves, and to work with them in their own unique way.
